Senior Lives Matter!

A Public Service Announcement

The Ohana Initiative Inc.

Our Mission

To raise community awareness on the positive health outcomes associated with seniors who remain integrated within their families and communities.

Our Goal

This nonprofit organization will use various public platforms to educate the community, build relationships with other senior advocate organizations, and rally support from those with similar beliefs.  Additionally, the Ohana Initiative Inc. will allow for tax-deductible donations to be made which will serve as a source of financial assistance to seniors and disabled adults who are unable to meet the full cost of adult day health services.

Although this program is solely designed with the purpose of raising awareness and providing aide to our seniors, it will play an indirect role of raising visibility for the Ohana Adult Day Health Program, and  assist in establishing partnerships with larger reputable organizations.

Projects in the Making...

"The Ohana Buzz" - a quarterly newsletter providing education and community resources for caregivers.

"Sponsor a Senior Campaign" - a program where the community can get involved and personally assist seniors who may be living alone or need additional help with activities of daily living.

"The Baby Boomer Ball" - a fundraising dinner event where seniors and disabled adults can come out and enjoy a night of dancing and reminiscing.

"Caregiver Camps" - scheduled educational meetings for caregivers who may need guidance, advice, and support with caring for their loved ones with Alzheimer's or other related dementias.
